- Writing is a process and must be taught as a process. Each teacher must have grade level appropriate curriculum in order for a school to be successful on the state writing assessment. Teachers want to be empowered with a comprehensive, sequential program that allows them to teach the process of writing.

- “Teach Me Writing” is a school wide sequential writing program for kindergarten through fifth grade. We have created daily lessons for every grade level, beginning with the first day of kindergarten and progressing sequentially and logically through fifth grade. Our program takes the ‘guess work’ out of teaching writing. Teachers no longer have to create their own lessons, wondering if they have presented the appropriate skills. “Teach Me Writing” is a language development program that incorporates a “hands-on” approach to teaching comprehension. “Teach Me Writing” creates a sense of unity within each grade level. Each teacher is responsible for introducing the same skills, graphic organizers and vocabulary. When teachers are empowered with the right tools, children learn. We are proposing that we empower all teachers with a comprehensive, sequential writing program that has been proven to be an effective tool in raising student achievement.

- • Students learn how to form SOUND IDEAS and develop GOOD ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS through the use of pre-writing strategies.
- • Students’ Individual Voice is developed as a result of being exposed to an enormous amount of Vivid Vocabulary, different introduction Styles and exciting Story Plots.
- • Vocabulary pertaining to Emotions, the Five Senses, Over-Used Words, Vivid Verbs and Figurative Language help students create mind pictures. These POWERFUL WORDS are introduced and incorporated in daily writing activities
- • Smooth Fluency is achieved with the implementation of different Introduction Styles along with the appropriate Transitional Words.
- • Correct Conventions are taught through the use of pre-written Narrative and Expository papers. Students learn to identify and correct common mistakes such as capitalization, punctuation, word usage and spelling.
